Cary Ranks High on the ‘America’s 50 Best Places to Live’ List

Financial Blog 24/7 Wall Street has compiled their list of the best places to live in America and Cary made it in the Top 10! Only two cities in North Carolina made the list: Cary at #6 and Concord at #42. The top 5 cities were Meridian, Idaho; Danbury, Connecticut; John’s Creek, Georgia; Centennial, Colorado; and Eagan, Minnesota.

The cities that were considered had populations over 65,000 or more and the rankings are based on certain factors such as employment growth, access to restaurants and attractions, education, housing affordability and crime rates. Here is where Cary ranked in those categories:

  • Population: 155,724
  • Median home value: $298,800
  • Poverty rate: 7.3%
  • Percentage of population with at least a bachelor’s degree: 61.8%
  • Amenities per 100,000 residents: 256.2
