Another Tanger Outlet comes to Charlotte, NC

Explosive growth over the last ten years in the southwest Charlotte/Steele Creek area has prompted the addition of  ANOTHER outlet mall, also by Tanger, just off 485 at the Steele Creek Road exit and is scheduled for completion in 2014. Similar outlets already exist in Mebane, NC and Gaffney, SC and although this location will have similar stores to the Tanger setups in those locations, it will be a smaller center, housing only about 90 stores with plans for expansion at a later date.  New stores = new dollars for our area… this project will add about 300 construction jobs and approximately 900 full and or part time jobs once complete and is expected to generate more than $10 million dollars in additional tax revenue for Mecklenburg County. “We are very excited to begin creating one of the South’s premier outlet shopping attractions,” stated Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc.  “This project represents an approximately $80 million investment by Tanger in the growing Charlotte community and the great state of North Carolina,” he added.
