Raleigh is Number 1 Best City

We “locals” love the Triangle and already feel that it is one of the best places to live – it was pretty exciting that Bloomberg Businessweek agrees!

  • What I didn’t know was exactly how many things there are to do and places to see… it is easy to get into a “rut” and go to the same coffee shops and restaurants, the summary of the numbers is as follows:
  • Raleigh is about 144 square miles in size (I like the fact that I can drive anywhere on back roads and NEVER have to get on the interstate).
  • Our city has a population on about 400,000 people.
  • Raleigh features 867 restaurants, 110 bars, and 51 museums.
  • 12,512 park acres are available which is equal to several times the green space per capita in cities like New York and Los Angeles, according to the Trust for Public Land.
  • It also offers a great deal on nights and weekends—from concerts and opera in Raleigh and also the surrounding and easily accessible Durham and Chapel Hill areas.
  • Professional sports such as the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and fantastic college sports (GO HEELS!).
  • One visit to the 30,000-square-foot State Farmers Market will take you on a cultural journey AND fill your tummy!

All in all, we are very fortunate to live in an area that is thriving – homes sales are trending up, the economy is in a better state than most areas of the country and we have an enormous amount of opportunity. Home buyers and visitors from all over the country continue to come to the Triangle and we can only hope it will continue to drive our area to even greater successes.
