Inside the beltline, the most noisy areas during the day are those around the train tracks, near the Pit restaurant and the Amtrak station following it all the way out of town beside Capital Blvd. During the night, Raleigh tends to quiet down and most of the moderately noisy areas turn quiet. One common area for noise is the Glenwood South district, shown on the heatmap has noisy during the day and night. Downtown Raleigh stays relatively quiet but that can vary depending on the location and time of day.

Raleigh’s residential areas remain quiet at all times of the day. Even most busy roads don’t break the noisy scale and tend to quiet down at night.
