With summer in gear here are some tips from Houzz on things to address this month:
- Irrigation Systems and Water Usage – Keep check on your irrigation system to make sure it is working properly. If you are in an area with restrictions on water usage you may want to set your timer accordingly.
- Attend to chips and cracks in your driveway and walkways before they have a chance to grow.
- Start a Garden Journal – This is a great way from year after year to remember what was planted where and how each plant fared.
- Increase shade in the garden – In the summer months we want to spend time outdoors but avoid sunburns! Add an umbrella, drapes or canopy to your favorite areas.
- Reduce summer energy costs by keeping shades drawn during the day and set your thermostat to a higher temperature while you are away from home.
- Clean fans and filters
- Wash windows inside and out with glass cleaner or a vinegar solution
