Fun Labor Day Weekend Events
This Labor Day celebrate the long weekend with some fun local activities!
- Catch Kids Fest: Don’t miss this fun festival at the Triangle Town Center on Friday, August 29 from 5-8 pm!
- North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. Georgia Southern Eagles: Support Raleigh’s native ACC college football team as they take on Georgia Southern in their first football game of the season on Saturday, August 30th at 12pm. Buy tickets here.
- Downtown Walking Food Tour: Head downtown for the afternoon to enjoy some delicious food from some of Raleigh’s best dining spots! This event will occur on both Saturday and Sunday from 2:30-5:30 pm.
Yummy Labor Day Treats!
Patriotic Trifle in a Jar
Ingredients:
2 store bought pound cakes
1 pint blueberries
1 pint raspberries
Whipped cream
Instructions:
1. Slice pound cake into 1 inch slices, and cut circles to fit jars. Alternately you could cut the pound cake into cubes.
2. Starting with a layer of cake on the bottom, follow with blueberries, whipped cream, raspberries, and top with another layer of cake.
Garnish with more whipped cream and berries if desired.
