Memorial Day Events in Raleigh!

hialeah-memorial-dayHappy Memorial Day! Wondering what is happening in the Triangle for Memorial Day weekend? There are many ways to enjoy this Memorial Day without even leaving our beautiful state!

 

1.Stars, Stripes, and Celebration!-Marbles Kids Museum is hosting an event today from 9am until 5pm. Enjoy a playful day of celebration in honor of our country. There will be Fizzy Fireworks Painting, a Rocket Science Lab, and more USA inspired activities!

2. Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. today-hosted by Cary American Legion Post 67 at Hillcrest Cemetery on Page Street in Cary. There will be refreshments after the ceremony at the Legion Post Home, 8523 Chapel Hill Road, Cary. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Howard Sanchez will be speaking. 3. Memorial Day Celebration-hosted by Cambridge Village of Apex at 10:30 a.m. It will be held at 951 S. Hughes St. Mike Melugin and Mayor Bill Sutton will speak. 4. The Bennett Place State Historic Site in Durham will be hosting a day of remembrance. Listen to Civil War soldier interpreters as the share the history and significance of Memorial Day. Admission is free, but donations gratefully accepted. May 28, 2011 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

5. 7th Annual Memorial Day Cookout presented by the Infinity Diamond Club. The cookout is open to the community and will take place at William B. Umstead State Park from 1 PM-5:30 PM on Sunday May 25th. There will also be a kickball game! For more info and to register click here.
