The Best N.C. Towns for Young Families

The Top 10 list is filled with Triangle area towns!

NerdWallet.com used 3 questions to analyze cities and towns across North Carolina in determining the best towns for young families. Those 3 questions were:

  1. Does the town have good public schools?
  2. Can you afford to live there?
  3. Is the town growing and prospering?

Based on the results, Triangle area towns dominated the list taking 6 spots, including number 1! Did your town make the list?  Read below to find out!

Coming in at number 9 was Wake Forest. Featuring a historic downtown district, many people also enjoy the various lakes you can find nearby. Cary came in next at number 8. Did you know that 68% of Cary residents hold an associate degree or higher? You will find some of these individuals at SAS Institute or Epic Games which both operate in Cary. Next on the list in our area is Chapel Hill at number 6. This university town offers many great cultural opportunities including concerts, great dining and shopping. At the number 5 spot on the list you will find Apex. Newly connected to the Triangle Expressway, Apex offers easy access to Research Triangle. Downtown Apex is a charming town featuring antique shops and ice cream parlors and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places! Near Apex is Holly Springs, number 3 on the list of best NC towns for young families. Not only has the population in Holly Springs grown immensely (from less than 1,000 residents in 1990 to over 20,000 today) but the town’s industry is taking off as well. Novartis, a pharmaceutical company, has planned to expand its manufacturing operations in Holly Springs bringing in hundreds of jobs!

This brings us to the number 1 best NC town for young families… Morrisville! In the heart of Research Triangle, Morrisville is home to many technology start ups thanks in part to Morrisville Innovation Foundation which helps entrepreneurs network and make it in today’s economy!
