Many use Glassdoor their primary guide to screening a company. However, the website could also influence a decision to relocate to the Triangle. The report reviewed the top metro areas with the highest Glassdoor Job Score.

The metro areas were ranked and determined by three primary factors: how hiring opportunity, cost of living, and job satisfaction.

Raleigh was given a 4.1 score with the following breakdown:

  1. Raleigh, NC – Glassdoor Job Score: 4.1
  • Number of Job Openings: 24,146
  • Population: 1,242,974
  • Median Base Salary: $50,950
  • Median Home Value: $198,400
  • Job Satisfaction Rating: 3.3

Glassdoor reports, “Raleigh has long held a reputation for tech companies looking to flee the expensive and congested Northeast corridor, with companies like IBM, Cisco and SAS setting up shop in North Carolina. Raleigh is also situated in the famous “Research Triangle” and has several universities feeding skilled workers to employers. Couple this with Raleigh’s walk-able neighborhoods and affordable homes, it’s no surprise that Raleigh stands out as the best city for jobs.”

The top 5 out of 25 total metro areas include: Oklahoma City, Austin, and Seattle. All of the top cities are favored based on the ability to offer a stable career with growth and access to affordable, middle class neighborhoods.
